Solution to Immigration
It's too bad our border patrol teams weren't in L.A. over the weekend. My guess is that 1/2 the 500,000 demonstrators were illegal, and could have been nabbed. But that aside, if L.A. is all for illegals, I say we construct a train system that would start in Mexico and end in L.A. Then L.A. can be happy with their continual flow of illegals and see how that "plays out" with the local economy. Would love to see how Hollywood's elite Actor contingent responds to lower wage "entertainers."
In the mean time, the rest of the U.S. constructs a giant fence between California and Mexico with laser-firing obelisk (Command & Conquer reference). Oh yeah, and let's toss out those Mexican consulates while we're at it. And tax the government of Mexico per illegal immigrant that gets shuffled back.

Dude, they'll just tank rush the fence . Laser fences are down right useless, you might as well just build dogs.

Laser fences? Dogs? Walls? Who is going to do all the jobs that Americans don't want to do? Boortz? Could you see him packing meat or picking cheerys for min wage? He advocated "sending them all back." Well I hope he enjoys inflation, low supply, high demands of his grocery items.

...give those jobs to other Americans or to immigrants who entered the U.S. under legal means. We're talking 4% of total jobs here, so even with the illegals gone, the impact to the economy would be minimal at best.
You don't offer a practical solution because Americans don't do those jobs anymore. That is the whole point from the business community. Unless of course they are unionized, then you talking over paying by 20, 30 some-odd dollars an hour. Where you getting your 4% from? The impact on the economy would be huge. Its all about supply and demand. Less illegals means less producity, Less productivity means less supply, less supply, more demand, more demand increase in prices. Paying someone more to do less equals inflation.
I am all for immigration reform. We don't need less illegals, we need more, and get them to the right people. If you want to export anyone start with those lazy union fucks, and their Democrat party, along with conservative pundits who think they are "protecting" this country. Then you will see the true potential of this economy.

What's worse - a temporary economic adjustment until Americans or legal immigrants take the illegals' jobs OR footing the social welfare bill for importing 11 million poverty-stricken illegals who just got amnesty?
