We're supposed to trust these people . . .

A story about the troubles of the Cops in New Orleans. Seriously, we have too many laws in this country to actually allow most of these idiots* to run around (armed) selectively enforcing them.

KH.

* I don't buy the "one bad apple" meme. There are very few "good" cops.

When I took a criminal justice class in college, we watched a special on the corupt police officers in New O. I think it was a special that had run on t.v. back in 2000 or so.

It was scary enough for me to think twice when some friends invited me to Mardi Gras that year.

Further classes explained that there are rigorous tests for police officers - they claim psychological ones as well - to prevent this kind of thing.

But how can they find enough people who won't snap to keep up with those trying to get away with shenannegans?

They can't. And they don't.

They throw a uniform on a body, hand it a gun and cross their fingers.
